ROM என்பதன் விரிவாக்கம் Read Only Memory ஆகும். இதனை Non Volatile Memory என்று அழைப்பர். இது நிரந்தரமான ஒரு சேமிப்பகமாகும். இதில் புதிதாக எழுதவோ, நகலெடுக்கவோ, மாற்றியமைக்கவோ முடியும்.
